We are made for community. God’s very nature reflects it. Jesus’ life models it. Let’s live by design. The Community ministry is where we engage in life together. It’s where we become known to one another, experience discipleship, serve God’s people, and become spiritually formed as we live out our mission to love God, love others, and make disciples.

More than church together. Life together. Groups are how we grow relationally. The bonds between us are strengthened through shared practices like worshiping together, studying together, praying together, serving together, playing together, eating together… taking the time to show up together. Through participation in groups, we move towards our vision - to be a community who embodies the presence of Jesus Christ for the flourishing of Northern Virginia and the World.

We offer Life Groups, Missional Groups, and Communities. 

Communities

Communities are larger groups that provide an environment of authentic belonging, shared purpose, and safety. They sometimes consist of multiple Life Groups.

They are spaces where we build friendships, encourage one another, and grow in faith together.

Life Groups

Life Groups at NoVA Community Church are a primary space where we live out our values and embrace practices that form us into a people who embody the presence of Jesus. Our desire is for everyone to have an intentional community where they are seen, known, and loved. We are excited to help you find yours.

Missional Groups

As we pursue the value of  learning to love our neighbor, we seek to honor the image of God through justice, hospitality, and compassion. Missional Groups provide opportunities to engage with our local community partners in their practice of justice, hospitality, and compassion towards our neighbors.

    Practicing the Way

    Join a life group centered on spiritual formation and intentional discipleship. Using Practicing the Way by John Mark Comer, we’ll explore what it means to be with Jesus, become like Him, and do what He did.

    The Carpenter's Shelter

    This group serves the unhoused community with hospitality and compassion. We gather monthly to prepare meals, connect with shelter guests, and support staff at Carpenter’s Shelter in Old Town Alexandria. Volunteers must be 18+.

    NoVA Men's Community

    A space for men to grow in faith, friendship, and purpose. Through small groups, monthly gatherings, and quarterly retreats, we engage deeply with Scripture, support each other in prayer, and build authentic brotherhood rooted in Christ.

    NoVA Women's Community

    A welcoming space for women of all ages and stages to connect, grow in faith, and support one another. We’ll explore Scripture, share our stories, and build meaningful relationships rooted in grace, vulnerability, and truth.

    Marriage Mentors

    A community for couples to grow together in Christ and deepen their connection. Through guided conversations, community gatherings, and mentoring, we’ll focus on strengthening marriages and learning to navigate life together with love and grace.
