Josh Coad was born in North Carolina, but spent most of his life in Dallas/Fort Worth before moving to the D.C. area in 2018. He currently lives in Alexandria with his wife, Rachael, their two daughters, Ellie and Nora, and a labradoodle named Max. He began leading worship music in high school and it eventually morphed into his full-time profession. He also studied creative writing in college and has worked in various writing/editing roles over the years. Josh is currently working on a Masters in Theology and Culture from St. Stephen’s University and is in training to become a spiritual director.

Josh is fascinated by the intersection of worship music and spiritual formation: How can our powerful experiences of singing in church shape us as a community to be more like Jesus in the world around us? In his spare time, Josh likes to read, write (songs and prose), go to the movies, talk with close friends, and gain an inflated sense of self-confidence by winning against his children at Mario Kart.
